The post The Middleware fruit cake first appeared on MIDDLEWARE CATERING.]]> Christmas cakeOur fruit cake can form the basis of your celebratory cake for that special occasion or can be ordered with a simple decoration as presented in the photo, which shows our 6 inch Christmas Cake.  Please note: for best results we recommend a year of maturation.   Shorter maturation times do not allow the flavours to develop.

Ingredients:
Sultanas, Currants, Raisins, Glace cherries, Mixed peel, Blanched almonds, Plain flour, Mixed spice, Cinnamon, Butter, Soft brown sugar, Eggs, Brandy

Marzipan, Fondant icing

We provide the cakes in four possible options:

  1. As cooked and matured, wrapped in greaseproof paper followed by foil.
  2. In a white box with a board, cake still wrapped
  3. With marzipan and fondant icing on board in box
  4. With ribbon and simple cake pick as presented today

The most popular seems to be No. 3 above, where we present a pre-iced cake, ready for the final decoration.  This IMG_4976picture is of one of our cakes where we provided the cake to the flat iced stage to be finished by a cake decorator to suit the occasion.  We can produce wedding or other celebratory cakes as round or square cakes.  The prices for some of our standard sizes are listed below but we would be happy to quote for other sizes and multiple sizes for different occasions.
